A year after ditching waitlist, Starlink says it is “sold out” in parts of US

The Starlink waitlist is again in sure components of the US, together with a number of giant cities on the West Coast and in Texas. The Starlink availability map says the service is offered out in and round Seattle; Spokane, Washington; Portland, Oregon; San Diego; Sacramento, California; and Austin, Texas. Neighboring cities and cities are included within the sold-out zones.

There are further sold-out areas in small components of Colorado, Montana, and North Carolina. As PCMag noted yesterday, the change comes a few yr after Starlink added capability and removed its waitlist all through the US.

Elsewhere in North America, there are some sold-out areas in Canada and Mexico. Throughout the Atlantic, Starlink is offered out in London and neighboring cities. Starlink shouldn’t be but obtainable in most of Africa, and among the areas the place it’s obtainable are offered out.

Starlink is mostly seen as most helpful in rural areas with much less entry to wired broadband, however it appears to be attracting curiosity in additional closely populated areas, too. Whereas detailed region-by-region subscriber numbers aren’t obtainable publicly, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said last week that Starlink has almost 5 million customers worldwide.
