    Google Revives Android 17 Beta 1 Just Days After Halting Launch

    Google launched the primary beta of the following model of its smartphone OS, Android 17, on Friday, following an aborted launch earlier within the week. 

    Beta 1 was alleged to launch on Wednesday, however Google modified the date to “coming quickly” on the final minute with out additional rationalization, CNET sister site PCMag reported.

    The brand new Android 17 Beta 1, designed for builders and early adopters with Pixel units, “prioritizes privateness, safety, and refined efficiency,” the corporate says. The beta is available from Google.

    Android 17 Canary will carry enhancements akin to “professional-grade instruments to media and digital camera apps,” with seamless transitions and standardized loudness.

    On Friday, Android Authority shared beta screenshots of Stay Updates with a more recent, longer progress bar and extra distinguished buttons. The photographs present that the progress bar now spans your entire tile, and the Exit Navigation button is extra distinguished.

    The Stay Updates function debuted with Android 16 and is designed to offer up-to-date visibility into deliveries and journey occasions with using a progress bar.

    The beta may also embrace new instruments to optimize Wi-Fi connectivity and expanded profiles for companion units.

    The corporate says it expects Canary to hit the Platform Stability milestone in March, which incorporates the ultimate APIs for app builders, and that the total launch would observe a number of months after (likely in June, TechAdvisor says).

    The beta launch precedes the anticipated launch of the budget Pixel 10A phone subsequent week.
