    Hundreds of illegal gambling devices seized in Florida in ‘Operation Funny Money’

    The Florida Gaming Management Fee (FGCC) assisted the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Safety Investigations (HSI) and the Inside Income Service (IRS) with ‘Operation Humorous Cash’ which noticed coordinated enforcement motion concentrating on alleged unlawful playing throughout Florida.

    The operation spanned three areas within the Northeast of the state, with investigators executing a search warrant in Jacksonville and two others in Orange Park.

    It was through the operation that FGCC personnel seized alleged illegal gambling machines and associated elements, with these amounting to 230 slot machines, and 23 fish tables, together with additional digital media and associated tools.

    Florida gaming regulator assisted HSI and IRS in Operation Humorous Cash

    Talking on the operation, the Florida Gaming Management Fee govt director Alana Zimmer mentioned in a press release: “The Florida Gaming Management Fee welcomes the chance to associate with our federal and native companions to stem unlawful playing in our state.

    “We are going to take the important, mandatory steps to close down unlawful casinos which are popping up throughout Florida. Our brokers are continually working to completely shut the doorways of unlawful playing institutions, and we admire the collaboration with our federal companions.”

    The gambling machines that have been seized have been transported to a FGCC storage facility for evidentiary functions. Any proceeds from the machines which were recovered have been collected and documented by HSI proof technicians as a part of the continued federal investigation.

    In Florida, the legislation permits playing machines to solely be provided in authorized gaming amenities. In accordance with the gaming regulation, within the state this consists solely of eight licensed pari-mutuel amenities in Miami-Dade and Broward counties and at sure amenities operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

    Within the announcement in regards to the consequence of the search warrants, the Florida Gaming Management Fee reiterated it’s towards the legislation to supply slot machine gaming or any unauthorized gaming at any unlicensed facility in Florida.
