    Search warrant finds illegal gambling machine and more at Pike County gas station

    On Friday (September 19), a search warrant was carried out at a fuel station in Pike County, Alabama, with investigators seizing US forex, an digital playing hub gadget, and different gambling-related objects and paraphernalia.

    The Pike County Sheriff’s Workplace has launched a press release, sharing that they executed the search warrant on the premises of the Marathon fuel station within the 7000 block of US Freeway 231 in Brundidge.

    The warrant was issued following an investigation into alleged unlawful playing actions and transactions on the venue. It was then that Sheriff’s Workplace investigators, Patrol Deputies, Sheriff Russell Thomas, and District Lawyer James Tarbox carried out the search, with the scene being secured by members of the Sheriff’s Workplace Particular Response Group and in coordination with Patrol Deputies and the Brundidge Police Division.

    “Proof collected by Sheriff’s Workplace investigators revealed numerous illegal activities to incorporate scratch-off type lottery tickets being offered, digital playing video games being promoted, and coin pusher type machines being operated,” the press launch states.

    “One of many machines being operated served as a conduit for gamers to insert bets, play unlawful video games on their cellular phone through a downloaded utility, after which return to the shop to gather any winnings from the machine.”

    Playing-related objects and paraphernalia seized in Pike County

    The investigators concerned seized over $25,000 in US forex, over 30 rolls of scratch-off type lottery tickets, an digital playing hub gadget, two coin pusher type machines, and ‘varied different’ playing associated objects.

    Sheriff Thomas mentioned of the raid, “I’m very pleased with the job efficiency and the time and power that went into this case, to cease unlawful playing at this location. With one of these criminal activity and the big quantity of people that play these video games, different crimes are additionally related to unlawful playing. I wish to personally thank District Lawyer James Tarbox for his help on this case and at all times being only a cellphone name away.”

    The investigation stays ongoing, with no arrests having been made. The monies and objects seized shall be topic to a civil forfeiture case to be filed by the Pike County District Lawyer’s Workplace.
